Etiquette
Your workout time is important - you should be able
to step away from real life, focus on your health
and feel better about yourself! Here are a few
ideas to keep everyone's experience a happy one...
1. No cell phones.
Turn off your cell phone, and
stash it in your locker. Loud private
conversations are inconsiderate to others trying to
focus on their routines. Not only can it be
distracting to other members, but you can't get a
good cardio workout while talking on the phone.
VFC has a NO CELL PHONE policy. Thank
you.
2. Pick up your
mess. When you are done
with something, put it away. This applies to
anything you are using, including re-racking your
weights and cleaning your sweat off the treadmill.
3. Wear proper footwear!
If you are in the club,
please have on shoes that are safe to workout in
(ex: tennis shoes). Flip flops, open-toe shoes
and bare feet are not safe or healthy while in the
club. If you are in the pool area, you must
wear non-slip footwear (ex: water shoes) for your
own protection. Water shoes can also help you
get a more effective water workout!
4. Do not
interrupt a group fitness class
to use their equipment. Most of the class
equipment (such as free weights, bands, mats, etc)
are available for use during non-class times.
5. Bring your
favorite tunes! If you
don't like the club music, then bring your own on an
I-Pod or other device with ear phones. Make
sure that you use the ear phones so that everyone
else can still enjoy the songs that they want to
hear.
